Hi.

I just sold my 7870 XT(wasn't gaming much, and thought I'd wait till Q4), and recently upgraded to haswell. However, I realize now that I can't wait anymore.. I really do need to game lol. Hence, I need some recommendations on what gpu to get next. I'm looking for something a tad more powerful than that 7870xt tho.

I was considering a eVGA 760 ACX for $260 (SC is out of stock) or a Powercolor 7950 for $270 ($30 MIR)
or a 7970 (nonGHz sapphire) for $335. Last option would be to get a DCU 670 for $320. Thoughts?

I will be overclocking, but am quite a bit of a noob so most likely ill only manage a 1100MHz on the 7950. Hoping for a 1200MHz on the 760 and maybe GHz level perf from the 7970.

Which would you recommend?

I'm gaming at 1080p btw.

Thanks for the help.

For 1080p 760 it is. The 670 isn't worth it, but if the 7970 is a non reference cooled card then it is a good value.

How much better would that 7970 OC to GHz ed be compared to a 760 SC OC to 1200 or so MHz?

They're all great cards now, but im planning somewhat for the future. Going to keep this card for at least 2 years.

PS: That 7970 is a Sapphire Dual-X design but it has that hideous blue PCB...
EDIT: Thanks for the reply btw.

7970>670>7950=760.

Are you ever planning on running two video cards in the future? If so, the 670 or the 760 are the way to go. If not, the 7950 Boost would be a great choice, plus you can still get some free games included in the purchase.

I would suggest waiting about week or two into the GTX 760 release. We should see price dropping on 7970/7950 and possibly clearance prices on GTX 670

Would the 7970 be good value at $335 tho? If not then i guess i cud wait and see how the market plays out. Really want a MSI 7950 for a suitable price.
