Black Myth: Wukong Benchmark Tool

I've heard this benchmark has issues with texture and object loading. More than one source mentions having to run it 3 or 4 times in a row to see accurate numbers for your setup. I'm currently downloading to test.
Didn't notice anything, but wasn't paying super close attention either. And yes all those result posted are just single runs.

Can confirm there was a bump in mins from run 1 to run 2 for me. Also, I noticed less 'stuttering' on run 2.

Run 1:
Run 1.webp

Run 2 (same settings, purely rerunning the test right away):
Run 2.webp

Run 3 (dropping ray tracing to medium):
Run 3.webp

Did you run it with Ray tracing? I was actually surprised at how much of a difference it made in the water and some of the shadows.

I suppose we'd have to decide on a baseline of settings to use, but my first run at least of settings I'd aim for if I bought the game:

I get far better performance on 'cinematic' than 'very high'. (66 jumps to 76 for a 15% jump) I'm not sure what the difference is? Also... I wonder if this would be any better if I didn't have my full work suite of software open on my other desktop.

*EDIT* NM... I now see I had RT to Med. I'll test it bumped up when I have time.

*EDIT 2* Just saw the announcement that ray tracing is getting a big update on the 20th for this game.

I was just watching the HUB video on this benchmark and a tonne of video cards. It’s pretty crazy how demanding games are getting again. I remember when Halflife 1 or 2 came out and it cost me $600 to basically build a new PC to play it! That was crazy then, but now… To get high FPS at high or more settings even the 4090 struggles in this one in some scenarios. I love the eye candy but boy this is going to keep making PC gaming pretty darn expensive! My 6800 XT isn’t up to the challenge for this game, certainly not at 4K where I like to be these days.

At the end of the day, game play is everything and eye candy is not.

Yup that’s true, but if the gameplay is great but inside a game with a very advanced graphics engine, you’re still stuck with spending the coin to get to the gameplay. HUB said that sub 60 fps or even higher perhaps, combat in this game is likely going to suffer, aka worse gameplay experience. I don’t mind paying for the tech to play, sort of, but I just would like the amount of coin to moderate a little!
