Crucial is no more

Crucial is a brand that hasn't really been in the spotlight for a while. Wouldn't surprise me if they were not doing that well compared to a lot of other brands.

Team group, Corsair, G Skill and a few others come to mind first in recent years than crucial. Almost feels more like crucial died along with OCZ

I agree for RAM, but in the SSD market, I've actually had very good experience with Crucial m.2 drives being high value.
 
I think close to a decade ago, Crucial was the go-to RAM if you want stable non-OC setup. They just work OOB unlike shit like OCZ and G-Skill back then. Hell even Kingston back then was the go-to but now they are way too expensive. Corsair is okay but I don't really trust them like I trust Crucial. This decision in insanely short-sighted unless OpenAI brought up their entire run so it would be moot to even run a consumer division. Worst of all, there are rumors that OpenAI goons are going around to buy out even retail DDR5 kits according to MLID's contact at retailers.
 
They are following the money I guess. A lot of people are bummed, but not this guy. Computer hardware has become so laughably expensive over the years. I am almost ready to pursue my past hobbies again. They are still expensive, but you have something to show for it. Instead of an upgrade cycle.

Actually scratch that. I was confused with Kingston. I think the only time I bought crucial was for cheap laptop memory.

But....Let's not forget that Crucial is Micron. When I firsted started building my own computers in 98ish Micron was the go to for high end memory. In the last while though, you rarely see a micron chip in the enthusiast grade memory. It's mostly Samsung or Hynix.
