Crysis demo

Guys with 8800GTXs\Ultras are trying to run the game all maxed out with very High settings and high res. Thats why they get 20-30FPS. Drop the quality and res and you can manage a good 60FPS... More than playable and enjoyable. Now, when next gen card gets out, you will be able to play it on Very high with 60FPS. (Hopefully)

If you have a rather low-end GPU, just play the game with low settings... It's not because a game requires high end stuff to play it all maxed out that you have to buy all that stuff... Other mid range cards will cut it but with less eye candy.

In other words, you are suggesting that those who wish to play the game the way it's meant to be played should wait to spend another $600 on a video card with no announced release date? My friend, I ask you: What is the point???

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't NVidia's "The way it's meant to be played" campaign suggests that each game branding its logo be played at its full capacity using NVidia's hardware in order to unleash stunning graphics and gameplay?

It was the same issue with FarCry...too complex for the current hardware at that time. I played the game at low settings...didn't enjoy the visuals, but I finished the damn thing. Now, three years later I now have the hardware to run it at MAX settings, but I'm not going to play it now - it's too late, next in line please.
 
The trouble is

The thing is you only play a game once for the first time.
It would be nice to play the game to its potential but...
It still looks like nothing I have ever seen on high in XP (no AA)and never dips below 28fps on my system in the demo. I maybe easily pleased though!
I am worried about ASSASINS creed though.

Thats true but look at how many people have never played Farcry or started it and stopped due their hardware at the time not able to play it.

I myself have started playing Farcry but never finished it due to the hardware I had but now I am going to finish it off and get ready for FC2 :D

I just hope the Crysis GAME isnt more demanding than the demo...
Otherwise I will have to wait another year and this will have taken the edge off of what was supposed to be a great game.
I'm not sure doing another "FARCRY ie releasing a game that is very difficult to play on current systems" is really in Cryteks best interests. Perhaps they dont care about PCgamers anymore.

Farcry 2 is in the making and comes out early next year. One of the coolest additions is that there is burnable vegetation. The first ever in a game that burns according to the weather and realistically. It is now in Africa so no more island repeated story. Plus it has a 50km square open level.

Has anybody else noticed all the weapons and vehicles you can put in like a helo, tanks, boats, etc. The rocket luancher is sweat!
