You need to go back to the lower levels to get the earlier mats. LVL 61 is the start of the highest mats.

Yeah lol I was like hmmm I'm not getting the blue mats for getting this gear to the yellow mats been farming the LVL 30 till I get like 3K+ since I'll prob change spec 45x before I hit 61+

Go to the Potion/Herbalist. You can transfer Orange to yellow to blue downgrades. Its MUCH more efficient/faster to run the highest pits you can quickly and just downgrade!

dangit lol well running the 30 pit i did manage to get a few 2-3GA weaps Main 2H Hammer and a Ring with 3GA's and i didnt brick it. you hear anything bout ZIR? ppl showing they getting 3-4 GA's off him, guess i need to do the Tormented version as 15 runs in normal he has dropped nothing but a pile of dookie.
Yeah, the Tormented Zir thing has been known about for a week or so now. I got my first 3 Uber uniques on hardcore from him. Too bad they all sucked (Andariels helm & 2 Selig necks).

I haven't seen a lot of confirmation on it, but so far the consensus I've seen is that Pit level doesn't seem to make any difference in the quality of drops. Quantity yes, quality no.
And yes.... I'd assume any big claims of drops from Zir are for Tormented.
i tried to solo Tormented wasted within about 50% of his life before i even knew about Holy Bolts.
I missed the changes to paragon board stat requirements in the mid season patch....
Allowed me to drop the two stat gems I had in my chest and replace them with rubies for life.
