D IV

Heh... BiS is Best in Slot, or in layman's terms the most effective piece of kit you can get in that slot for your build. Bumping Glyphs is my term for leveling paragon glyphs but you wouldn't see that until after lvl 60.

One of the features of D4 Seasons is that paragon levels carry over to all characters so once you've gotten to a certain point with your first character (in my case it was paragon 286 from my WW barb) you automatically get those paragon levels for any new character once you unlock paragon levels by reaching lvl 60. That's a huge boost to your newly rolled character that kicks in when you reach level 60.

One of the biggest things to watch for in the higher levels of the game is the difference between damage multipliers vice additive damage. A stat that does 50%(x) is a hell of a lot better than 50%(+)

After another full day at this paladin and getting some better gear (4GA BiS amulets don't hurt.... :)) I'm at the point where T4 Ubers are under 10 seconds, and that's with my glyphs under lvl 70. Definitely overpowered, and really highlights how underpowered my end game WW barb was/is.

I haven't pushed the pit yet, but just finished a lvl 100 pit without breaking a sweat.
Thanks for taking the time to explain that! Also good to hear you think the Paladin is overpowered. I mean I don’t want them to change it because I’m having great fun! 😉 I think i mentioned this before but I focussed on fewer skills but bumped them to max. I wondered if that was a better approach. I’m not following any build that I know of. Just focused on Disciple Oath and skills that seemed to work well together. I think this class will keep my attention enough for lvl 60+.

The new expansion is live (including the 1/2 hour wait for the new season).

I jumped in fairly quickly and managed to create a seasonal character but got kicked out of the server before any real progress was made. (Probably best to just let the dust settle and have a look tomorrow sometime).

I'm still enjoying the Paladin too. Still much to do, but made the whole feel of the main story better for me.

Watched a couple videos about all the additions and changes in this latest expansion and I went yet again "Wow... I still have no idea what I'm doing..." lol

loaded in this morning on Lock went Penitent man why do i do that to myself lol it was not fun but made it through got a set of yellow gear on my lock love summoning the raging beastx2 it really helped once i got them.

I'm guessing I'm 3/4 of the way through the expansion story arc @ about 10hrs in. The lack of passives on the skill tree is a bit weird in that it appears to promote maxing out the secondary skills. In the case of my WW barb things like ground stomp (used to be mostly about generating mana) and Rally Cry (again mostly about generating Mana) used to be a single skill point in the main skill, but without passives you're pretty much left with maxing them out since there's nowhere to put skill points outside of what's on your action bar.

Hmmm, I'm generally not too interested in Blizzard games and D3 was pretty 'meh' for me (and D2 as much fizzle as sizzle), but I do love a good Paladin class.

Might give it a shot if it's on gamepass.

Feels like one of those games I jump back into every now and then instead of playing nonstop. I’ll play for a bit, take a break, then come back later.

I think it’s on gamepass now, just the base game though, not the expansion. Good way to try it without committing.
