EPIC Deal: Dell 2209WA eIPS 22" LCD Monitor - $250 Shipped & Taxes Included

 OK I feel like a dumbass! LOL

The screen is fine! It has to be something wrong with my camera lol. I was going through all my digital pictures and they are all in the same spot. But then I started to zoom in and the pixel got big :haha:

No complaints here!! High quality photos look incredible!

If you have stuck pixels make sure you do the monitor self test before you return it. Sometimes they will un-stick. Ive salvaged 2 monitors this way. Both are still alive and in use in family computers, without any stuck pixels, well after I finished using them.

To self test you simply...read the manual!

Do it a couple times and see what happens. You might be okay!

Ya I've managed to do this too but one screen is hopeless this time.

Brightness: ~10 (suit to taste after)
Contrast: 79 (check LCDtest to custom to your panel)

Colors RGB Custom: R 98 G 97 B 99 (again, every 2209WA panel will be a bit different)
Sharpness: 40

I also had to lower my Gamma to 45% (nV Control Panel) to get close to the 2.2 level.

Thats mine. Looks good now :)

i believe 1.8~1.9 is more better because more black and accuracy color (lcd is usually brightness than crt)...

well 1.8 to 2.2 is still recommend...

Got mine setup finally. Been messing with settings for ages, lol. Ahh perfectionism :P
Here's what my setup looks like. The pic is a bit darker (except for the screens) than real world but you get the idea.
Here's my settings:

Brightness 50
Contrast 75
R 96
G 93
B 99
Sharpness 40
Gamma 2.25

ok finally i opened it and warm it for 15 minute... configure everything (about 10 mins) i played around for less than an hour... very simple than i thought...

setting: DVI, contast: 77, brightness: 0, about 1.9 on gamma level and all default... i was still clueless how do you change color of RGB level but not necessary to change...

advantage:
- height, v and h pivots and angle adjustment... honestly i like height the best!
- simple setting on menu and download driver...
- 98% perfection color... well very hard to tell difference... i examined everything as i can... i was shocking because its much good as my crt and better than my brother's and mom's samsungs LCD
- 22 lcd is pretty big than my 22 ctr o_O?
- prefect straight...
- no dead pixels ;p
- price 260 including taxes, shipping...

disadvantage:
- too brightness! i can't lower more... not huge problem... maybe thats why they called it as ultra shape or clear-crystal color...
- poor resolution choices (and hz...) i mean i only can 1280x800 at maximum 75hz OR 1680 x 1050 at maximum 60hz*
- stupid glossy border... its annoying when watch episode at fullscreen...
- on setting, no auto resize? hard to understand what warm, cool (9300k) and standard (6500k) is...
- rotation is not prefect align... i wish it has "click" or something

* i really rather to have 1680x1050 at 75hz because i can tell that 75hz is much smooth and faster than shitty 60hz... and i still hate 1280x800 because its short for me...

winner; viewsonic g220f vs dell 2209wa... yeah i decide on resolution especially hz... the resolution for my g220f is 1600x1200 at maximum 85hz...

and sorry no pictures because my mom took her digital camera for her long vacation...

Where do you set the gamma level ? I was trying to find it for like 2 hours yesterday.
