Hard to go wrong with Herman Miller, as long as your wallet can handle the shock!

I know I am looking for a new chair as well, and has anyone else notice that prices seem to have gone up? I swear the Steelcase Gesture I was looking at wasn't $2000 cdn before the pandemic.

Honestly I have been tempted to get this Ergo chair as well, but the short warranty has me worried. My current Clutch chair had a longer warranty. But the cost difference between Ergo and Leap/Gesture/Aeron/Embody is just so damn much. I want one that has a head rest and really like the look of the Gesture, but really need to find somewhere that I can actually sit in one. Ideally somewhere I can sit in both the Gesture and the Leap, to see which one I like better.

But again Ergo $450 vs Gesture $2000. Though warranty 2yr vs 12 yr.

Well you could buy four of the Ergo's and get 8 years of warranty for the price of the Gesture ;)

I have a Steelcase Leap at work and although I am happy with my Aeron at home given the price I got it for, I still find the Leap just a bit more comfortable. I have never tried a Gesture.

Just to muddy the waters a bit more, I just bought one of these for my daugher and am quite impressed with it. Not sure how long it will last, but it is very comfy and has great adjustments for average body sized folks.

well...now that my Uline chair is falling apart at less than a year of age, I may just have to find the $$$ to get a Steelseries Series 1 chair.

even if Uline sends me a replacement arm for the one that stopped holding it's height setting, the gas lift has failed on me twice in less than a week. this is concerning as I bought this chair due to it's weight limit which I'm not even close to weighing. <_<

Any failure is a pain but gas lift failures is a real blocker. Pretty much renders the chair useless for me until replaced.

Yeah that seems a bit high, pretty sure it was under $2000 all-in last year around this time when I was looking. Could be supply and demand, could be our falling CAD, could be all the various trade wars too...
 
Even during the winter Herman Miller sale last year, the Embody was almost $300 more for the same spec I did a year prior. Although I'm sure covid has put a strain on supply from WFH.

no...it's Trump's tariff's. they hit things from 10 - 25%. you should see how much notebook accessories like docks have gone up. it's painful!
