Evga Step-up experience?

I would give them a call ask if there is any sort of timeline they can give you, things seems to go much quicker when you can talk to a rep. I stepped up to the two 280's using a GX2 and a 9800gtx and had sent everything required but no approval for almost a week, so I called the rep and he looked at it and approved it over the phone, they were shipped next day!...never hurts to call :thumb:

Well all I figured I would post some interesting info on this step-up:
Got my GTX 285, and all is well. Took them a week to ship with Fedex.

However, Using GPU-Z I just noticed the default specs on my GTX 285 card:
GPU Clock: 702mhz
Memory: 1323 (basically 2646mhz)
Shaders:1584mhz

These specs are identical to the specs on Evga's GTX 285 SSC card:EVGA | Products

Seems Evga sent me an SSC card, when they were supposed to send me a vanilla card...

Needless to say I am a happy customer!

I stepped up my GTX 260 (which was dead incidentally)- They received it on the 3rd, but haven't shipped the replacement yet. it will probably go out tommorrow though. They processed my request very quickly though- the same day. Seems to help that I bought the part form newegg- I didn't even need to send an invoice for some reason- I'm wondering if they don't have a way of cross referencing the SINs of cards sold at newegg.
