hi all i have been around the block with builds as of late and have come to realized as i evolve and try new builds iv found fewer and fewer fan headers on boards and itx builds i always tor to make sure the builds have ever spot filled with fans.

what is everyone's go to fan controller when building rigs as i always used to add a Corsair Commander to these itx builds but realized somethin what if someone wanted a linux build corsair doesn't support Linux.

im wondering what alternatives others have used? when iv found a good replacement they shoot up 200% in cost after a few months and get forced to find cheaper alternatives for my alternatives lol,

1. Corsair Commander Pro (usual Go to)
2. Phanteks
3. DEEPCOOL FH-10

these are the ones i rotate in and out depending on cost some have went form $25 to $110 others $110 - $45 these i add if the build is over $1000 and at my own expense.

The biggest issue I've run into with fan controllers (other than the commander pro) is that they typically only support one style of fan control. Yes they support either 3 pin or 4 pin, but in most cases you can't mix on the same controller.

The listings for the two you've posted don't make it clear whether you can mix or not.

iv found they all allow for 3 pin/4pin as the pin out and lil lip is there for that but speed control is determined by the cpu fan header which doesn't help much if you want to tweak it.

nice lil units for 4-8 fan control im also looking to redo my setup having 3 fan controllers in my rig is working but id like a way to monitor all the fans (2 commanders + a 10 fan controller) these will be great for current rig. pricey but worth it from that software suite i can see. thank you for this suggestion.

I can't remember the brand I used to use. They were manual sliders up to 50amps or watts or something. It'll come to me at 3am lol. Really high quality at the time, everyone was using them.
