G9 leaving black residue on my mouse pad

well I cleaned my pad, but I'm still feeling resistance in the form of a scratch. I think that it may be becuase of small imperfections in the surface of this pad (small dents and deep scratches)

So I'll definitely do some sanding and see if that helps. if not i may need to retire the pad soon, it is after all 7 years old i think :haha:

I use my g9x on my desk. While the residue isn't very visible to the eye, after a while I can feel it on the desk. I just use a tissue with rubbing alcohol to rub it off. The residue is from the teflon pads on the bottom of your mouse.

Maybe you guys ought to clean your desk and hands more often

My DeathAdder and Func F30.R don't experience this, though I commonly see it on any public/school computer I use.

I had this problem with my Logitech g5/7 when using a mousepad with a hard plastic surface. I find that my mouse feels great on a cloth mouse pad (steel series brand), and it doesn't get noticeably dirty after a lot of use!

Yeah at home I use a QCK for comfort, but omg the SX tracks like nobody's business, so I use it at work. Just found out it's discontinued. Tempted to order a couple...

Haven't you tried the Artisan pads? Considering how low they can be PMed to, employee pricing should be very good for you. Not to mention most of their cloth pads track just as well as the SX without the cold aluminum bringing down my reflexes. (yes, cold hands DO affect my headshot count)

You should at least do an unboxing since NCIX carries them.

But yeah, you guys should wash your hands more often, my G9X doesn't leave crap on my mouse pad and I've used it for almost 2 years now. Only issue is the scroll wheel coil whine...:angry2:

well my problem was really from my previous mouse, just needed to sand down the surface on this one and we are good to go. now I'm not feeling any drag and don't have any black smudges on the pad.
