how do you keep your registry lean and mean for your processing machine?

Recently I've noticed my system takes significantly longer to launch certain games compared to friends' systems. We'd be on discord and launch them almost simultaneously and I'm always the last to get to the main menu. I'd always pride myself on keeping a clean system but after probably too many install/uninstalls over the months it's probably catching up.
Does anyone still use or recommend BCUninstaller? I saw it come up somewhere, now thinking of giving it a try. Still haven't used CCleaner, might do that or like was said here "Revo" or "HiBit".

a semi modern computer the effect of the registry is pretty insignificant overall unless you have been torrenting questionable files endlessly. Id suspect something else is going on. Especially from the state of an already booted computer and trying to load a game.

Network connection, HDD activity, Antivirus etc are all going to have a larger impact than your registry. Optimize before micro-optimize.

if you are going to use Ccleaner look for the portable version so that it doesn't give you that nag screen of wanting to install or upgrade every time you use it .

I used Cccleaner for many years but for some reason a few years ago it borked my Win 10 desktop. It was a real pita to rebuild and fought me hard. It is no longer on my list of utilities to use.
