Intel Skylake Non-K Overclocking BIOSes Pulled (Comment Thread)

https://www.kitguru.net/components/...ng-on-non-k-intel-cpus-with-new-motherboards/

Seems Asrock is re-enabling bclk overclocking on non-K CPUs even w/ the new microcode from Intel.

Ok, but that is not a new software workaround, basically new motherboard models coming out the factory with supplementary hardware on them : external clock generator!

So a different solution altogether, and it doesn't apply to existing boards either, so this is more of a heads up when you will build a system from now on! Still, hope remains. Good job Asrock!

Since it's an external clock, I wonder if there are any hardware "fixes" Intel could incorporate to negate this option, or if their line of defense lays solely in pressuring Asrock to "play nice in the sandbox"?

I can't say much but expect X99 refreshes to be HIGHLY delayed from ASRock.
