Intel updates CPU s at a lower price point HWC

Just watched GN's video.
  • Impressive performance gain compared to Intel's earlier 200 series
  • Way faster than similarly priced R5-9600X in productive workloads
  • Sigh, game wise a 5800X3D is still hanging in there, AMD should really release an updated one

Isn't AMD releasing updated sku's with a bit of a bump to counter these?

Also 9800X3D price drop, at least in US. ArseRock officially supporting 9950X3D2.

Interesting bit about the Zen5 refresh got a lot of base bump but max speed is only 100Mhz more but double the power limit. Don't forget one of their VP hinted at a Zen3 refresh too. But I would take a huge rock of salt with that rumor.

I watched a few reviews. HWC one is good, and I agree with their conclusion.

It’s what the original release should have been. Seems like a fantastic bang for buck. If you happen to be building right now and need multi core horsepower, they are a great deal.

That said, with ram and ssd prices as they are, “budget” build is not currently possible. It’s on a dead end platform that is being replaced this year (I think). So absolutely a good chip, but with the timing of next gen and high ram/ssd prices, I am not sure they will sell to many.
