Dood be pulling prices from his ahole IMO. 12GB of LPDDR5X would cost half that. If something actually would going to fruition, I'd say $499 is more likely.

It’s basically the same as an apple tv 4k with a few extra ports and a different os.(of course newer cpu and triple the memory but you know what I mean.)
