Mass Effect Legendary Edition and new series entry

Me: "Oh man I can't wait to play this again. Maybe I'll try renegade and a different class like Engineer for once"

Also me: "Orrrr I could go Colonist War Hero Super-good guy Paragon Vanguard again.... Yep let's go with that for the 15th time. Where's Liara and Garrus?"

Also, also me: "Maybe I should save Ashley for once...... but Kaiden's you're broooooooo and he's not a speciest jerk"

I too tend to gravitate towards the same class, though I have more tried to make it a habit in games where you get multiple companions but can only bring a couple to rotate them through based on the missions or the group's synergy so to speak which usually ends up in different combat / dialogue differences.

I flip the party members around a bit too. In ME1 on your second+ playthrough it's the easiest as there's less functional differences between classes and your bonus power can pretty much balance any party setup (or just make your character ridiculously OP like Vanguard + Singularity)

In 2 and 3 it can be a little harder to mix and match as taking down biotic barriers, shields and armor all become more important. Any party combo is certainly playable, but you definitely notice some encounters become a lot harder if you don't have the right balance.

I frequently mixed it up a bit just to enjoy the banter. Some I generally skip (Grunt, Jacob, Samara) as they don't have as much personality as say Wrex or Garrus.

Disappoint. It was supposed to go live at 12:00am EST, so 9:00pm Pacific for me. Now it says 8:00 am PDT tomorrow for launch. EA, you suck! Again!

Origin app is saying 12 PM ADT for that me so that lines up with what you're seeing. I just hope it isn't a buggy mess for some reason when it does go live. It shouldn't be right since it's a refresh... right?!

Question from a Mass Effect noob: lots of talk here about the classes/roles/paths; is this game one where you can "do it wrong" or are any of the options feasible?

I ask because in most large RPGs or similar, if there is a way to do it wrong I will pick it! :D Mostly because I'm too casual and don't dig deep enough into the systems. Just curious what I should be expecting when I get into this one.

Class is all about play style. You can't really do it wrong, though if you don't know the mechanics you can make it harder (i.e. I was smart, played as a Solider first time through then all the others after once I understood the game).

Making choices in the game is how you can end up picking 'right' or 'wrong'. It is totally worth it though. IMO.

Regardless of the ending.

If you play as neutral instead of full good/bad guy it will likely make you mad in the 3rd game.

Yeah a little surprised about that, wake to see people saying they're still waiting before they can play the PC version...
