What does the bottom part of crashlog say? It's here: Steam\steamapps\common\stalker call of pripyat\_appdata_\logs\xray_yourname.log

For me it gets to the loading map screen but the "Press any key" message never comes up. I have to ctrl/alt/del to task manager, for me it seams to be a memory hole because if I leave it long enough x-ray eats all of my free memory. Via Task manager.
Checked the crashlog as you mentioned but it is completely blank.

He he, I already tried dropping everything to the lowest settings @ 1680 x 1050:thumb:
Same thing memory goes to 100% if I let it.

I'll take another run at it tomorrow, been a busy night fam wise tonight.

As per your advice on the Steam Thread:
some of the tweaks I think might do the job:

- move the texture quality slider to 80% or less (best solution)
- disable Crossfire
- use DX9 settings
- use the last known to be working Catalyst 10.7 drivers (only works on 5xxx series and below)

Reverting to 10.6 worked for me this morning.
Going to start turning the eye candy back up since this is at the lowest settings still, just got it up.
Even on low though dramatic improvement in GFX over the original, Thanks artistpavel!
 
This one is absolutely going into the queue; the original stalker complete was the driving force behind me falling in love with that game and losing weeks to it. I've heard Pripyat is a lot more open ended exploration which is what I fiend for.
