heya all when i seen this thing i thought holy hell finally something with enough cooling (180w tdp) i had a Ghost S1 just waiting to test this thing out and a Professionally delidded 9800x3d liquid metal from them they conductonaut extreme the direct die Contact frame with 240% increased surface area, and Duranaut. and immediately temps sky rocketed 10c a second in bios from 22c to 84c in matter of seconds you could hear the fan ramp up and up to 3800 rpm never seen that before.

i would have included the ram but knowing what i paid and what its worth is more depression then anyone needs to know lol.

Something's not making contact..... I'd think that even a passive chunk of copper without active cooling would keep the temps better than that during the post.

Heavy +1 on something not being quite right. I can boot up the 5950x with the pumps off and it won't spike that fast. A giant copper block should be able to do better than that.

I had mounted my CPU block poorly on my 9800X3D and I could get into Windows before shutting down :ROFLMAO:

Sounds like the heatsink might be defective, in that the vapour chamber isn't working/transferring heat.

Where did you even find Cryorig products though? Thought they left Canada/North America long ago as I haven't seen their stuff in ages.

Amazon $75 USD i got them to send me a new one for just this reason i though maybe the cucks at Cad post Ran it over or crushed it but nope new one came pristine condition same issue i cant wait for days off to see if it behaves the same on a 3200g cpu now ><

i forgot to mention i did test this with a Dark Rock 5 Pro to see if maybe cpud was being wonky nope idled at 24c in bios for 22hrs.

Sounds like the 180W TDP is heavily overrated then... which would make sense for a 30mm thick heatsink with a 92mm fan.

Same goes for the Thermalright AXP90-X47, I think that claims 135W, but the Ryzen 7700 I run on it tends to spin up to 100% fan speed under like 25% load... and that's only a 65W chip. It's my server so I haven't really bothered to check the temps, but when I walk by all I hear is the fan lol. Thankfully it sits closer to idle most of the time though.

well update it was barely able to cool a 5700G in the Bios 54c idle. i think this is a product to show off not actually use.

Honestly, even if everything is installed perfectly and it's working as it should, it looks to me like an sff cooler for non high performance parts.

Going by this review, it wasnt that great on a 7900x. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/cryorig-c5-cu-low-profile-air-cooler/7.html

@175w under load and almost 95c

as for bios, dont forget that cpu's always run hot there because there isnt any thermal management applied.
