Nvidia control panel has been taken out behind the barn (or sent to an unnamed farm upstate if that's your thing ).

Nvidia says the Control Panel's features have been migrated to the Nvidia app.

Doing a standard express installation of the latest drivers will not automatically remove it, but doing a custom/clean install it will be removed from your PC.

Why? It's only new/clean installs which remove the old control panel.

refresh rate changes, resolution changes, and fine grain control per game. dont like the nvidia app means we have to have all that telemetry stuff installed and container services.

I don't use the Control Panel, I use the badly named NVIDIA App for Windows.

A lot of people still seem to prefer the older lightweight tools over newer apps that try to bundle everything together.

Hmmm, thanks for the heads up. May not be a good idea to use DDU to uninstall the driver before installing a new one... That is what I have been doing for years, pretty sure DDU wipes everything out.
