Nvidia Control panel depreciated

Honestly I dont think I ever installed the control panel specifically either but I always unchecked the extra software. The CP was always auto installed by windows after the driver. At least thats the way it has been for a very long time anyway.

I think that's why I migrated over to using the app. I've never been all that happy with trusting MS update to keep my vid card drivers up to date (AMD was particularly bad in this aspect) and the app has an auto install (well, auto inform at least) option.

Another benefit is switching between PCs for gaming.... the optimize setting allows me to easily switch graphics settings between my desktop (AMD) and laptop (Nvidia).
