NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 2GB Review Comment Thread

On a second note I think this GPU now makes it possible to get back in the realm of a high end gaming computer (single GPU) that will run safely on a 500-550w PSU vice the common norm of a 650w at present.

And given that some manufacturers are going to bring out single slot versions of this, I can genuinely see this card achieving the popularity the 8800GT had (albeit relatively more expensive compared to it at the time). Underpriced, overperforming, low power consumption and small physical footprint.

Everything a person could want in a card and more.

Damn, these are gonna go fast. My conundrum is that by putting one into my gpu folder the drivers for the 670 may not play nice with the 560Ti. I have had to run older drivers to keep the 560 "folding happy". Guess I will find out soon enough.

@Phill
Single 670... not really (much better power usage but not the same raw gpu power)
The 2 570's are plenty, unless you want to sell them and get dual 670's (or take the performance hit)

I was tempted by the 680... Not any-more.. :P
Would actually love to see a $700 dual gpu version of this...

Can't wait for a "round-up" review of the after-market solutions.. Very disappointed in the heatsink design after the glory of the 690..
Though that just shows how impressive the card really is..
Passively cooled, under-clocked, 670 for silent pc anyone?

Ya I think I will be stuck with my 570s for a bit yet... I really do want a larger frame buffer. 1280MB it not quite enough for 2560X1440 IMHO.

If I had two 2.5GB 570s I'd sell/trade them to ya, but I only got 1.

I've also been reading around, and early reviews of the EVGA GTX 670 Superclocked has it systematically beating it at almost every game at 1920x1200 (with Crysis and Metro2033 being the exception), and nearly matching performance at 2560x1600. I guess that factory overclock really makes the difference.

"Remember, the flagship GF110-based product was launched about six months ago for a price of $499 and we now have a $399 card that can run circles around it"
It's been a year and a half...

That did seem a bit odd.

And if he meant GK104, didn't the GTX680 only come out like, 2-3 months ago?

My girlfriend tells me to get my head out of the gutter. Clearly though, my head is in 2011. :bleh:

That is a sweet card, like how they made the card smaller. As well don't need a large PSU to run it.
