NVIDIA GTX 780 Ti Review Comment Thread

Titan was a prosumer card. It was to bridge the gap between professional cards and gaming cards. It still is a great card for double precision. Gamers who bought a Titan shouldn't be that angry because the card wasn't really meant for gamers. It is a prosumer card that just happened to own at games as well. My two cents.

As for Maxwell, I highly doubt we will see it anywhere in the first half of 2014. Knowing Nvidia, they won't release it until AMD comes out with something new.

If were being honest the prosumer part is the only thing that saved it from being a total absolute backhand from nvidia to its hardcore diehard fan's.

i keep hearing about its dual purpose roll but everyone seems to forget 7970 double precision performance aswell in open CL. which is a more open source platform to begin with.

I think we all knew you were going to pull the trigger.

Ah shvt......now I have the Hardware Junkie hangover......you all know what I mean  Anyhow, will be nice to go back to 2 Cards, really like the looks of performance numbers...think 2 of these will come very close to the same performance as my 3 680's....
I'd say skip that... nobody seems to want to buy 680s on the forums right now.
^^^^ So you think I'm going to box em up and throw in my closet  .....of course they'll sell, just have to price em right, as I always do

You mean the hangover when you realize you just dumped $XXX for minimal gains other than bragging rights? :punk: been there myself multiple times if so! Hey, at least you won't have to worry about the performance "loss" of the odd game that doesn't benefit from 3-way SLI.

No, I mean skip the forums and sell em on ebay or somewhere. Then again, if you don't mind selling them for less than $220... go at er.

Dont be an "old grey cloud"....:blarg:....trustme they wont sell for "less than $220"....cause I'll donate them to a cause before I'd sell em for that price my friend :thumb:....besides I'm not looking for "gains" over n above 3 way 680's, looking for about equal performance running one less GPU....:bleh:

I had my 680 up for some time on the forums and the best offer I was given was given in 2 weeks was less than $230 (mind you mine was stock).

Well, I don't mean to say 2x 780Ti aren't a better option than 3x 680 as you should be getting lower power draw/noise/thermals by only having 2 cards in the rig vs 3. I went from SLI 570 to a single 680 when it came out for the benefits of thermals/efficiency.

^^^ Well that was also a vanilla 680 2GB Card...these are Classified 4GB that I can OC to Boost to almost 1.3 Ghz on the Cores ;)....essentially there a GTX 770 Classified 4GB (Newegg.ca - EVGA 04G-P4-3777-KR GeForce GTX 770 Classified 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card )...exact same Card with 80mm Cooling Fan.....these are some of my GPU's in a nutshell...may have missed a few ;)

1 x 8800GTX to 2 x 8800GTX to 2 x GTX 260 to 3 x GTX280 to 2 x GTX480 to 3 x GTX580 vanilla to 2 x GTX580 Classified to 3 x GTX680 Classified....now back to 2 Cards 780Ti....sold all of those previous Cards, generally at 60% - 65% less new price.....I go thru GPU's faster than my 2 Jack Russells go thru Orange Hockey Balls !!!

Pretty stoked with these 2 780Ti Sc Cards coming, probably get em sometime late next week.

I'll bump my 3930k back up to 5 Ghz and Post some Benchmark comparisons of Tri SLi 680 Classy's OC'd vs SLi 780Ti OC'd........should be fun ;)

Willl run the standard:
MK11, MK13, Heaven, Valley......
