Photography thread --IMAGE INTENSIVE--

You have some really nice images in this thread. I was just wondering what gear you are using and what your processing workflow is like.
I use Lightroom Classic. I wouldn't say I spend a lot of time processing, but I do shoot in RAW. I go with the take many, keep few approach. The ones posted here are probably only a couple minutes of editing. I do go through them the same day though, I find it's easier to adjust when its still fresh in your memory.

I've had a bunch of cameras over the years now, Canon Rebel XS, EOS 60D, EOS 80D. A small collection of lenses amassed over that time, Sigma 17-70mm, Canon 10-18mm, Canon 24-105mm f4L, Sigma 18-300mm. Have a Sony A6000 as it's compact but don't really like the ergonomics. 16-50mm kit lens with that and a 16-70MM F4 Zeiss (eek at the price).

I use a Canon RP primarily now with the 24-240mm lens (as of Aug 2020). Feels nice, not overly bulky, most shots I find are usable. Definitely much more dynamic range than my other cameras. I have the RF mount adapter to use the EF lenses too, though I don't usually bother. The 24-240mm covers the majority of scenarios and makes it easy to grab and go.

Visiting Japan is a lot easier than before with pocket Wifi rental and Google Translate + Google Lens. If you don't mind using the public baths (fed with volcanic water + seeing other naked people), I definitately recommend some place like Hakone that is fairly close to Tokyo. Riding the Shinkansen is awesome. It's clean and fast and sometime even got food sold onboard. Buying a ticket got easier with either JR Pass or on phone app (linked to my credit card) but entering and leaving the train station is a pain.

Fun facts. My brother has lived in Tokyo since 2007 and runs his own English school there. He was only able to do so because his wife is Japanese. I never visited him since he moved.
