Here's one the bugs me daily. The City of Calgary, specifically my ward alderman, is ignoring poorly lit crosswalks. At night it is not possible to see people trying to cross at three crosswalks until the last minute. It is a matter of time before someone gets smoked there.
Another note about Calgary, dont you just LOVE a city with one of the most amazing racing facilities in all of Canada, due to politics and the crazy mayor of our city, gets the thumbs down for lease renewal, so the facility falls to sh^ts, track isnt repaired, promoters cant do d^ck with it, everyone was told its going to be demolished, only to get a 5 year stay right at the last damn minute. Awesome, dont make it 10 years, dont make it 20, give it a short 5 years! Who is going to front the millions needed to fix up the facility if they can only have it for 5 damn years!
Add to that, the Mayors reason for wanting it gone, is the expansion of the cities water storage ponds. Now that the city has voted to extend the racetracks lease for 5 years, the city is forced to spend a "little" extra and expand in a different direction around the track. So why stick it to 5 damn years! If your already expanding around it, make the lease 50 years! That way it would be an awesome idea for investors! Im sure the water life wont complain about the damn noise, its possibly the best place for a racetrack! These guys are retarded!
Oh and its amazing.... we get bombarded with the mayor telling everyone that its a small monority that WANT the track to stay, saying hes is doing what the people want, yet CTV does a poll..... they say its one of the most popular polls they have run (meaning alot more voters than usual) and the result..... 86% are in favour of keeping the race track.......

:angry2:
