edit: Pretty straight forward....

If I have it right NFC sets up an electrical field in a coil to power the chip / process. Unlike an antenna for receiving signals which can be a straight wire, in order for the coil to be able to generate the field it requires an unbroken cct / loop. Breaking that loop anywhere prevents the cct from generating any field at all (not just limits the power).

I haven't tested it yet, but the smart chip should be completely unaffected by the break in the NFC loop.

Final field testing confirms that the chip/pin functionality is working fine so I'm gonna give this procedure a thumbs up for any of you fellow tin-foil-hatters out there. :)

actually didn't bought any, just had a good laugh when I saw it, wasn't much of a rant, I see that often at that location. I always take pictures of stuff I'm not sure just because of how many times I had items that didn't scan at the advertised price.
 
You're right but there are still layers of security...but for the unknown population it's hard...Let me just post everything I own on facebook and when I'm going away on vacation for 3 weeks, because...**** logic.

First thing I uninstall on all new phones is facebook followed by twitter. I then disable gmail. I figure that's about as "safe" as a phone gets without rooting and such. Can't be bothered to root or flash roms anymore, Motorola did a good job on their stock roms for my taste. I'm sure my privacy levels are still poor compared to many.
 
My Rant

You tube reviews mostly every review i've seen on video cards are always high end intel systems. I'd like see reviews using different computer systems middle range intel or amd .
