Rants etc.....

Yeh, I know. As fun as it may be, its hard when the team doesnt win at all. Then it's not so fun anymore. My team is made up of castoffs from other teams. The players no one wanted. When we first started playing last fall we were being blasted 8-0. I have taken them to all of the tournaments I could, spring soccer, etc. We can now play gold level kids and not get blown out. But it's hard.

How would you motivate a kid like that? Every challenge, tackle, goal, etc? Would you offer him monetary compensation? I know parents who offer $20/goal. I would just be happy if he moved and didnt just stand there.

We are playing u11 but 8 of my players are 2002 born (should be 2001). My son was born at the end of 2001 (dec 19) so he's quite young. You would be amazed how big some of these kids we play are. I guess it's quite intimidating for some.
 
oh the size thing , I think that in some sports the smaller you are the better advantages just as long as you have the longs , like soccer I think a smaller player would benefit a fair amount because of being able to maneuver allot faster and also pass the ball quicker. I also think that the thing about soccer is to remember that it isn't about the goals as much as it is on getting to the net then worry about scoring, I used to love Football ( or as we call it now soccer) when I was in school, I was a below average player but I still loved the game I always remembered to have fun most of the player I ended up playing against where on very good teams so after as while I realized that it isn't about the win it was about the fun and besides I was better at allot of other things that the all sucked at lol.
the problem now days that everyone seems to have forgotten about sportsmanship particularly good sportsmanship and alsothat sports are supposed to be about the fun not about who has the better skill.
 
Yeh. You're right. But these kids are smaller because they are quite a bit younger. If they had the same physical maturity it would be different.

I think I will focus on it being funner. I think we will have more fun and less stress that way.
 
Hose exploded in my hand at work today, sprayed very hot steam all over my right hand and now i have 1st degree burns everywhere, never experienced so much pain in my entire life.
