Rants etc.....

Hearing's fine, it's the comprehension and ability to file rapid points away for future reference that needs work. :)

I've always thrived in an interactive classroom environment and tend to completely zone out if it's a straight out lecture and/or trying to learn by reading. I need hand's on and/or the ability to question instructors on the validity of my understanding of the content being presented.

I'm in the same boat. Been reading stuff off and on for the N+ cert and I just can never find the motivation anymore since I go nuts just reading about it. Lemme sit in front of a 64 port switch and tinker with shit while I do it and I'd probably learn a lot more.

Not exactly "Fake News", but a perfect example of the type of sloppy reporting/editing that leads to folks believing implied facts as opposed to the actual reported facts.....

Here's the link through to the original article.... World's oldest known killer whale Granny dies - BBC News

Now have a look at the image I posted with Flipboard's headline.... notice somebody seems to have purposefully left one particular descriptive word out of both the title and the descriptive text?

Might not seem like a huge deal, but leaving out the word "known" implies that it's designation as "the oldest killer whale" is a straight up fact as opposed to recognizing that we probably haven't identified every possible candidate for that title.

Language matters in the media, and without getting anywhere near politically partisan we all need to recognise when it's not being used properly or when statements make unreasonable leaps of faith.

Turns out the alingment of my I/O shield on my Z97 board won't let my ethernet cable's tab 'lock' into place :S

Going to have to try and force it out a bit or maybe file it down so my ethernet cable actually stays plugged in

I frigging hate having to list stuff on Craigslist. Not one but 3 offers for $300 when I'm at $360, lower than anyone else locally.

How in the Foo f#$k does purolator make a nickle and suck so bad. Every time I think they are either going to implode or they can't suck any worse, they figure out a way.

At the point I have to accept that if it needs to be shipped, I don't need it that bad.
