discussion Recommend a DX10 Game

I've been playing the Lost Planet demo in DX9 on my machine. I'll be buying it soon. More than likely through steam. I believe the retail game was released yesterday.

I tried out the Lost Planet DX10 demo and quite frankly, it's a turd. The graphics look almost exact to the DX9 version but with a horrible frame rate. COH with the DX10 patch is pretty decent, nothing "wow, DX10!" though. I am trying to wait patiently for Crysis to come out, that looks to be the first "real" DX10 game.

personally i loved company of heroes dx10 would give it more live and delicous smoke effects but i would wait till the fall for crysis it will be one of the first games completely based around dx10 and all the vid cards will be cheaper too

there is one more DX10 game, Supreme Commander. I am waiting for Crysis but the DX10 to DX9 comparisons are not that big of a difference for Crysis. COH is an amazing game but haven't tried online. The only problem with COH is you just need to pump out as many tanks as possible and you win. The infantry combat is the best for an RTS so far.

Halo 2 Vista isn't DX10, it's only DX9.0c, Hired Gun just remade all the textures at higher resolutions.

Just noticed that LP actually recommends VRam for best gameplay.

It'd certainly be interesting to see what the difference is with or without.
