Who needs China and the asteroids? We have Norway! Concerns about sea life in the area being affected and rightly so!
The distant future. I keep waiting for humans to be able to get the worst polluting factories into space away from earth; exploit the asteroid belt or Mars or whatever and do all the polluting out there. Capitalism seems bent on ignoring this planet has finite resources. We're great at production and terrible at recycling, reusing, repairing. Tech moves so fast it's not long before most electronics are considered obsolete, non-usable, non-recyclable, non-repairable. We can't continue this way.Who needs China and the asteroids? There might be some relief from the recent storms in the mountains (with more to come) on the west coast. However, the US keeps expanding urban areas like Los Vegas, Phoenix which never had water to begin with - it's desert. So there's likely to be clash between farmers and people demanding water.I like my veggies but for how much longer?????
its the cost why build such places when the ycan just build them super cheap in certain countrys and emploee people there for cheaper labour buiuldimng inm space means hiring people tha talready have such experince and just those peop-le probably cwouldcost as much as building in a poor country. myself if I had major money to build I would try to do it in space and all of the pollutants could stay up thereThe distant future. humans are how much #water this is one of the many reasons why we need those fruits and vegis without them we wouldnt live very longThere might be some relief from the recent storms in the mountains (with more to come) on the west coast. And we now know that deforestation has a major impact on rainfall/weather but we keep cutting trees down in Canada (& the world) and expanding urban areas without thought to consequences. The Great Salt Lake, Utah, is expected to dry up soon and the dust is quite hazardous - we'll get a piece of that depending on the winds.
What will help, is buying foods that are not so water dependent & avoiding foods that are water hogs. I'm seeing more and more items now grown in Mexico, central & south America along with Canadian greenhouses & hydroponics. And oddly, more veggies out of China which I avoid (shipping cost, time factor??)
sounds like you should setup a greenhouse in your back yard.I like my veggies but for how much longer?????
We do have an outdoor garden and I do grow a few veggies indoors all year roundsounds like you should setup a greenhouse in your back yard.
