The "What book are you reading" Thread

I've watched The Martian several times. I should add that book to the reading list. Haven't read or seen Project Hail Mary... yet.

I just started reading that after seeing the movie in Theatres. Same is what happened with me and The Martian.
I saw The Martian years ago, but I will re-watch it after my wife and I read it.

I wanted to read Project Hail Mary before I see the movie. I read it, then my wife did, and now my daughter is reading it…probably hand it on to my son to read and then do a family movie night!

Birds are dinosaurs. Fascinating book. Example: In 2006, Tom Williamson, curator of paleontology at the New Mexico Museum of History & Science & world expert on mammals that proliferated after the asteroid strike. He took his 2 boys out to a section of the Badlands, New Mexico where bones dated back to 62.4 million years ago. One of his sons found a partial skull and skeleton of something he couldn't identify. He called for help and was told it was a bird - hollow bones, fused tailbone. Turns out they were fossil bones of a mousebird. There are 6 species of mousebird still alive in South Africa today.
You'll learn about the terror birds of South America or Demon Ducks both about 3 meters tall.

the very first novel for the BattleTech universe, Decision at Thunder Ridge.

the mech pictured is a 20 ton Locust (LCT-1V) firing it's small laser. I'm laughing because those are machine guns on either side of the torso and their barrel's are way out of proportion to what they should be.
