Saw a YT video that focus on AI and he tested the new Tiny Corp driver that enables AMD and Nvidia eGPU over TB and USB4. Went back to look for a written article and Toms but the video goes a bit in depth and reveals that there is a problem with the memory speed. According to the video, a RTX 5090 should have 1.7Tb/s memory transfer but it's only hitting 33Gb/s in an eGPU adapter. Now I wonder if they will release a gaming version of the driver.
EDIT: interesting comment on the video saying TB3/4 is 40GB max with bandwidth reserved for DP signals, so 32-33 Gb/s is normal.

Apple approves drivers that let AMD and Nvidia eGPUs run on Mac — software designed for AI, though, and not built for gaming
Gamers are disappointed.
