Toronto Maple Leafs...

He's there to play but he is also there to mentor gustavsson. Gustavsson is the Leafs keeper for the future and he should be learning everything he can from a vet that have cups like Giguere. Sure he has a gk coach but even stuff like work ethic is important.

Giguere with a shutout in his Leafs debut, Sjostrom an assist, and Phaneuf a solid 24 minutes and a fight! Whoo hoo! 3-0!

The new comers made a good first impression. But, besides that the whole rest of the team had a little more jump. Maybe they're stepping it up with hopes of securing a position with the recent openings, maybe the trades (regardless of who it was) revitalized their enthusiasm, or maybe it's the newcomers bring something new to the dressing room... who knows as long as they keep it up!! Sjostrom looked better than his record would indicate.

I think they should send Gustavsson down to the marlies until he gets used to playing at this level. He's not bad at the initial stop but has no battle and looks awkward on the second effort. He had a great training camp but not great since.

They played a great game until the last 3 minutes......man....is it ever frustrating watching them lose like that. I agree Gustavson needs more experience. Lets hope they can make a game of things against the streaking Sens.

Wilson's a f****ng chump!! He knows that Kovalchuk is playing his first game as a Devil, and will probably be trying to impress...WTF does he do..put in Gustavson? Why...why did they bother getting Giggy? I really think Wilson's half the teams problem. He also didn't use his time-out, when NJ was getting into a groove. Dumb MF'er. :censored: :angry2:
