Correction.... I keep making the mistake of conflating having access to the 6 ghz band with wifi 6 / wifi 7. The oneplus 12r recognizes that it's connecting to wifi 7, but only does so on the 5 ghz band.
Hmm, isn't WiFi 7 supposed to connect across 2 bands? Or is it 6GHz + 2.4 or 5GHz? I haven't really read up much on it, could just be the phone doesn't support that feature too I suppose.

I'm not sure if it's part of wifi 7 or not, but the 12R has an option to connect to two different SSIDs to merge their throughput.

So, it's just a matter of inserting one of those adapters to convert one of the 10G ports into an ethernet WAN to bring 2.5G to the router? No networking gymnastics required?

I really shouldn't have looked.... there's currently an Enterprise 8 PoE on ebay for $500 + $20 shipping...... ;)

Really bloody hard not to hit buy on that one...........

Made an offer.... still a hell of a lot more than I'd like to pay for a 2.5g PoE, but 8 PoE+ ports should future proof me for a few years.

Except that you need PoE++ (bt) not PoE+ (at) & 2.5G for the U7 AP's don't you?

Edit: Never mind, the U7 AP's are only PoE+ it was the door entry system I picked up for the office that forced me into PoE++ injectors. For some reason I thought the U7 AP's were also PoE++ not just PoE+

Nope, PoE+ is the requirement for them. (Ninja'd) :)

Which cameras are forcing ++? The G5 bullet still only lists PoE as the requirement.

Edit: Ah.... these are listed as PoE++

That said.... it sounds like the base unit requires PoE++ if you intend to use the PoE passthrough from it?

Max. power consumptionWithout PoE output: 30W
With PoE output: 50W

Edited the post again but you were quicker than I was. It was the G2 starter kit for door access that forced me to pick up a PoE++ injector. Just finsihed installing it a few days ago so much better than the old system. Old system didn't support https so accessing it was a pain and they quoted us over $2k to replace the main board with a newer one...

G2 kit was $400 + $100 in odds and ends and a couple hours to replace the old with the new doing it myself. Running new wires to fix their hack job etc.

1 camera is fed from the door entry system (one that points right at the door)

That's actually pretty cool. How are the cards programmed?

edit: I'm surprised that the electric locks seem to be reasonably priced as well.

Presumably a person could expect to be able to set up a single door system sub - $1000?

Office is using identity (free tier for number of users we have, also how i'm controlling VPN & wifi access now).

-open identity portal
-find user and click add card
-get prompted to hold a card/token in front of the door for 5 seconds
-get voice confirmation of registration status
-assign a schedule to the user. Make these at a global level but basically just a saved setting that says what doors can be opened when. A new hire for example has no business accessing the office at 1am.

If the user has the identity app installed at this point they can also open the door with their phone. Either via tap (if they have set it up right didn't quite get this working on my own device) or with an on screen button that enables if they are within a certain distance of the scanner.

Well.... they accepted my offer. I really hope this is legit.......... Most expensive ebay purchase I've made from a private seller. I've bought items from manufacturers' ebay stores that were more expensive, but not from an individual.
