Its up in the picture in the first post, but it was a Realtek RTL8139/810x

I really have a dislike for old computers with built-in Ethernet.

Have you tried assigning it a fixed/static IP address behind the router rather then letting the router DHCP it out one?

Reason I didn't want to go that route was because of the amount of locations that the computer can go to. It doesn't not stay in a static location so it would make that transition much more difficult to get the internet running if im not there to assist.

The 169.x.x.x IP address is filled in by Microsoft Windows when there is no response from the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server. I know this was already solved but figured I would chime in my 2 cents.
