Hockey Stanley Cup

I've always thought it was odd when they picked a guy from the losing team, but that said he probably had the best playoffs of all the players so he deserved the trophy. Honestly, I understand why he didn't come out, but I think he should have. It is more of an honour to be chosen when your team loses.
The Con Smythe should have gone to Bob, period. he had 2 bad games of the entire playoffs. That can't be said of McDavid.

McDavid put up a performance level that equals Gretzky and Lemieux for one of the 3 best performances of all time.
Whos Bob's comparison for his stats this year? Tuuka Rask? Roy? Quick? Hasek? Belfour??? lol, this year he was nowhere close to the level of a Top 10 all time playoff goalie. Bobs playoff stats arnt even Top 50 this year, let alone the finals where he posted a dismal .842 in 7 games.

What we saw from McDavid hasnt been done in 30 years, and never before has that assist total been reached. It was...unbelievable what we were able to witness.

Now, if this was last year when Bob had is .942 before they got eliminated I'd agree with you. And if he didnt blow games 4/5/6 to maintain his .916 average (or better it) he'd be sitting at =<30 all time, and then I'd argue he'd probably have gotten it even over McD.

Which is all the crazier knowing that all 4 games the Oilers lost to Florida he didn't register a single point, could be why some people thought Bob was more impactful (one way or another) then McDavid was.

But when you break a Gretzky playoff record, you definitely were extremely impactful for your team for the Stanley Cup playoffs (even if he didn't show up on said score sheet for half of the 7 games). I think if Bob didn't crap the bed as much as he did in games 4-6 he probably would have edged over him.
