What is your Internet speed?

Just swapped over to Rogers Fiber on a 2.5GB plan. Configured with a switch plugged directly into the ONT and then both the Rogers XB8 and my personal Unifi UCG Max plugged into that switch. Everything (including the wireless TV boxes) is running off of my internal network but I need to keep the rogers modem up and running for the home phone jack.

Both devices pulled a unique public IPV4 address and so far everything seems to be working as expected.

Yes Sir. Nothing wrong with those speeds. Golly. Nice!

Renewed the 500 plan with rogers. Down to $70/mo. Not an amazing deal but tired of fighting over small discounts. 500/200 was right after they did the renewal. 500 down is even more than I realistically need as cool as higher speeds would be "fun" or what not.

Didn't expect the temporary outage after agreeing to the renewal

That is one of the main reasons I won't switch back to Rogers ( a lot of outages ), the other is speed. It seems bell knows if you want gbps speeds up/down you don't have many options, I had to go to a combo deal to get my price down, still 3gbps up/down but now we have fibe app tv ( which we wont use ) the internet is 115 and fibe tv app is 15. After getting the email about my new package it seems I may end up having to switch to teksavvy if the email is correct since it states the fibe tv app is 15 for the first 2 month then goes up by 16 dollars since fibe tv includes crave ( which I told them I don't need as we pay for crave yearly already ) so in a few months I will see what happens.

The good thing is Bell will only lock in new customers on a 2-year plan, which means I am still on a month-to-month, at least if I have to switch to TekSavvy I don't have to worry about paying more than the listed price of the plan cause I am a long-term customer

Agreeing to the renewal caused the modem to reboot in this case. Usually it is pretty consistent, but realistically this is the Shaw infrastructure not rogers (stupid takeover should never have been approved).
