Whats your latest purchase?

A couple rolls of ABS filament and some extruder gears. I'm going to print a better riser for my K1C 3D printer and upgrade the extruder while I'm at it.

I took the ARM plunge. Since I'm on the go all the time, battery life is key for me in a laptop. Most of my mobile tasks are web based, with the few local tech jobs that I still do being pretty easily functional in an ARM environment. And any native X64 work I need done can still be handled on my actual workstation.

After a bunch of research and some hands on, I settled on the ASUS Vivobook A14 w/ 32GB RAM and the OLED screen. This thing is absolutely incredible! Battery life is bonkers, the OLED is crisp and very bright, and the material the laptop is made out of is crazy light but strong. It also has a soft touch feel to it that's very pleasant. My understanding is that it's some kind of aluminum/ceramic composite, so it should hold up well. ASUS also includes a full year of accidental damage replacement.

I opted for the X1 chip rather than the elite as it won't be used for gaming at all, and mobility and battery life is my focus. So far, zero regrets.

@Caldezar thats actually pretty handy by the looks of it 2 type c means can break it out to a ethernet jack when needed instead of taking up real-estate in the labtop. a few jobs iv been on still required a lan port to get into the setup portion of the network but once ws in setup didnt need it.

i wish i had things like this when i was a kid lol remember the old toys you could actually buy a boos pack that slapped on back to increase the hp of the rc car this woulda been in early 90's

I would have liked to get the blue one but they are sold out from allot of the sellers.

FMS 1:24 FCX24 1/24
ouch...that's a lot more than I was expecting once I saw the link to AliE. there are so many other options in and around that price point from local shops with a huge fanbase and company support to maintain / fix and even upgrade.

none-the-less, I hope they have a blast with it :D

Ah not from my research. Good luck finding a crawler with battery and remote for under 200 lol.

The one I want for myself would be like $600-800 without battery or remote 😅
