Rants etc.....

All floors in my building have only 2 stalls + 2 pisser for men regardless of renters taking the entire floor or not. Since my company took the entire floor, our washrooms are behind secured doors. Have to travel to floors with multiple tenants to access free stalls. Being downtown Vancouver, I wouldn't want to use the public stalls in the malls and office buildings.

Just spent 1hr+ being bounced around different Rogers' support lines trying to get my current gen3 router upgraded to their new gen4 so that I can get the speeds I'm paying for out of an ethernet port (the gen3 only has a single multi-gig port that's taken up by the ONT). All that time only to discover that the new Gen4 apparently is only compatible with cable hook ups as opposed to fiber w/ ONT.

Credit to the final support tech I ended up with for going the extra mile to discover why the system wasn't allowing him to just outright replace my gen3 with a new gen4, but ultimately walked away disappointed.

Government building I worked at each upper floor had a secure and insecure area on each floor. Bathrooms were always outside the secure area... People urgently rushing to the bathroom forgetting their ID's was somewhat common.

Also the HP Center at NAIT the architects screwed up the bathrooms pretty badly. There are metrics like X people in the building over Y hours = A male bathroom stalls + B female bathroom stalls.

XY=AB simplified calculation works "OK" for an office building but they didn't take into account that it is a school not an office and students don't randomly just use the bathroom spread out like they do in an office and it drastically spiked between classes. Resulted in constant lines at all the bathrooms in the building between classes. Spent 3 years with most of my classes in year 2 and 3 in that building, it sucked.

Have you tried putting a 5G/10G switch in front of the modem and splitting it off to your Ubiquiti stuff? They used to allow 2 WAN IPs. Alternatively, I'd try ONT > Ubiquiti > Rogers Modem too if you are just using it for VoIP.

Already there. :)

Yes, I'm able to pull 2 separate IPs out of the ONT by connecting it to a switch first and then splitting it off to both the rogers' modem and my CGM. I've got wifi turned off on the rogers modem and connect my STBs through my Unifi APs. The rogers' modem is only online to provide the landline. The only real downside is having to tape over the extra ports on that switch to make sure nobody tries to connect a device directly to an unprotected port.

I've tried getting the modem to work downstream of the CGM but so far haven't had any luck getting it to provision that way. I suspect it's not a straight up VOIP which only requires a valid IP and that it's tied to the provisioning of the modem.

As it stands... I've got a working setup to get 2.5G to my internal network, it just irks me to no end that I can't do it using the ISP provided hardware.

Now that my FB Purity is broken after FB update, I'm seeing Japan property ads in my feed. How in the hell can a hotel property with multiple buildings cost only $350K USD while a drug den in Surrey cost $500K CAD? It's this place by Mt. Fuji.

That whole hotel is only $350k? Wow, maybe it's time for a career change lol

Get power bill today. $251! Somehow I've used over 200kWh more than I ever had before. Meter gets an actual read every month, so its correct too. IMO my bill should be pretty much the same every month. Even a 100kWh swing seems impossible for me, as I do the same things every week. But 300kWh more than Oct? Makes zero sense.
