My new over the top gaming rig...

Not to nit pick but this is a fairly standard gaming build. If it had dual GPUs and a Titan with RAID SSDs perhaps

Absolutely agree with Enab...pretty standard High ebd Gaming rig, but certainly not over the top...now for over the top:
Quad SLi (or at least Tri SLi) 780Ti's or Titans
Dual PSU's
4960X OC'd to 4.8 Ghz
32GB or 64GB 2400 - 2900Mhz RAM
240 SSD's in RAID
480 SSD's for Apps n games
2 x WD Blacks 2TB for Storage
3 x 2560 x 1440p / 1600p Surround
etc etc etc

All Water Cooled of course....now thats an "Over the top" Rig imho :thumb:

I hate to say this but this thread has gone off the rails a bit.

From looking at statistics, the AVERAGE price of a newly purchased PC these days is....$686.

The OP's system rings in at nearly 3 grand. To me, that's "over the top" and pretty awesome.

HOWEVER, I would make one major change:

Ditch the power supply and go with something similar from Corsair or another reputable company. OCZ, the owners of PCP&C have filed for bankruptcy and while Toshiba has picked up SOME of the pieces, the fate of the PSU arm is still in limbo. This means everything from RMAs to customer support will be affected. With all of those questions hanging over PCP&C, I would say avoid them for now.

Ah, I didn't know that. Shame, my Silencer Mk.II is a great powersupply. They make (made) nice kit!

Sky you are 100% right, on multiple parts. While true i could be getting 4 titans/780's; i think that kind of build actually would have another term, even more majestic than "over the top".

Regardless, as far as the power supply suggestion I completely agree with you. I ended up with -

Amazon.com: Cooler Master V850 - 850W Power Supply with Fully Modular Cables and 80 PLUS Gold Certification: Computers & Accessories

850 is more than enough for my system, that being said i wanted something that was enough in the event i get another 780.

Not sure if you have pulled the pin on that PSU, but this is one I would certainly consider and a tad cheaper ;)

Corsair Enthusiast Series TX850M 850W ATX Modular Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan 5 Year Warranty

You are the second person to recommend those. They really worth the money?

On the whole package what that they offer you it is worth the money, but I don't think the sound quality is worth 229.99. You'd be hard pressed to find anything that's concretely better though. Seems like the PC speaker market could use some fresh air.

Ya, its ordered :(.

Ah well.

FYI to those using newegg coming up, they are a bit behind on packing and shipping items. Could be a few days before your stuff moves.

It's December now and people should be already quite aware shipping at this time of year is brutal anywhere.
