13900k and 7950x trading blows and I love to see it

Anyone who grabbed a 5800x3d for gaming rig isn't unhappy 😄

Reviewers X3D results are all over the damn place. I guess it really depends on the games tested. Some games just don't benefit much from the extra cache. I definitely don't regret it tho. I'll skip this and likely next gen CPUs until DD5 prices are way lower.

Yeah thats why that graph is a bit helpful as it's a broad view of overall average.

But it is a bit like that with all the hardware these days. Some games love AMD gpus or Intel cpus or nvidia gpu. It's an interesting time

the thing I notice that makes me think LMG LABS has maybe dropped the ball is their 13900k multi-core score on R23 was higher than anyone else Jays/GN were both around 38000 for the 7950x/13900k yet LMG's was in the 40000 range for the 13900k, kinda makes me think LABS might have left something like Asus multi-core enhancements on which will force the CPU to all core higher then what intel says it should, or much better temps somehow IE room temps/ better cooling don't know just thought it was strange. if I wasn't passing it by I would be quite happy with the AMD chips for their performance per watt but not that bang for the buck cause that left moved house a while ago lol

It is getting harder to compare one review to another anymore. Thankfully most reviewers try and inform us about the testing methodology as well as configuration, so we can see what settings and gear they used. But how many go into the BIOS? I like reviewers who dive a bit deeper, but there is nothing invalid about testing "out of the box", so if ASUS sets up its MB to burn up the Intel chip, that's a chance you take I guess! And it seems that this generation of Intel and AMD CPUs both companies are trying to ride the edge of consumption and heat, all for the sake of the "best" numbers they can squeeze out of their silicon.

I’d much rather read a review than watch these YouTube reviews.

There are still a few sites that run written reviews. I do miss the HWC write ups though, they were thorough and very well done. The video ones are okay, but you can't cut and paste facts out of a video like you can from a written review during heated discussions :)

Plus its much easier to seperate the reviewer from the article when it is in written form.
