When I first heard of this, I wondered if maybe it might be related to Intel's manufacturing issues..... pure conjecture but not hard to imagine that an newer industry standard process which both AMD and Intel were using was causing issues.
It makes sense, but it's not just a packaging issue. The chips were completely mislabelled and packaged. Can you imagine if you purchased a chip and it was a mislabled chip that was a 7 series, but you purchased a 9 series? At least they caught it in time.I'll post articles when I come up on them again, but last night I ran into a bunch that confirmed it was a packaging typo that caused the recall to be issued. LoL!
