True, in various good or not so good implementations. That is why it has perplexed me that they took so long to implement them into stock. Maybe their partners wanted some feature differentiation? Dunno. Anyway, I am pleased with 7.0. I went off stock for a while for a few phone but Nexus and stock Android (with frequent updates) is still my favourite. I used to flash custom ROMs. It was fun for a while but when I finished experimenting and learning about it I just wanted my phone to work. Stock Android fits my requirements for the majority of what I look for.I will probably have to wait 5 or 6 months for a Cyanogen Mod build to be released for my phone. Even if an ASOP vanilla build shows up I won't use it. Unwilling to give up my customization.
Merging same notifications, double tap home (or long press home), split screen are things that have been on other non-vanilla Android phones for years.
Quick tip if you want to get 7.0 on your Nexus sooner without manually flashing it. Enroll your device in the Android Beta program. You'll get the OTA release version and in my case it showed up almost immediately after I enrolled. And no factory reset required with this option.
