Asus Z690 Hero boards catching fire

So, this will be the last ASUS board I ever order (I have so many ASUS boards)

The response from ASUS is it’s a normal RMA that I have to wait on there repair facility to receive and confirm my mother board then send out a replacement… unreal and Unacceptable…

And I am left with no choice as I can’t return the MB as it’s past return window

That's really unfortunate. I'd have hoped for them to step up to the plate on this, but that response falls far short of what they should be doing.

Are they at least offering to pay shipping?

I would have lost it if they told me to pay for shipping… so luckily they did pay for that but having to ship from BC to ON then wait to be processed is just crazy. That’s going to be a 30 day turn around with the way things are right now

ME is only 15 days, so returning is not an option.

Almost tempted to buy another MB but have a feeling a lot of people in my boat might do that leaving eBay filled with them

Thats why I stopped buying from ME, their return window sucks. I hate that Amazon/best buy is so easy to return but they just are.

This is not a typical return though.

I believe you can request an RMA directly with ME within the first 30 days. Certainly this is a valid excuse. After 30 days you need to deal with the manufacturer.

I tried contacting ME but gave up and just packed it up and sent it back to ASUS, I’ll keep tabs in here on how that goes…

The ASUS forms show then giving all kinds of answers from asking the customer to pay for the return to we will ship back a brand new full retail…

Likely a dumb question (haven’t had a chance to watch buildzoids vid yet) but has anyone checked if their ram is still okay after it goes poof. Pretty close to that area.

I didn’t read about anyone losing any components but it’s always hard to tell when you loss your MB.

There where people who blew up the MB, went out bought another, blew that one up…

So I think everything ok
