GN vs LTT, thoughts?

I have liked some of LTT content over the years and generally didn't mind the over the top kind of stuff they would do, but again as entertainment.

But as mentioned the response from Linus is well, disappointing. Calling out GN for not talking to him first when goes on live shows and does it to everyone else. And then the Billet Labs part is frankly what bugs me the most. Forget about the BS of "oh it is for charity and we will give them the money for it." They wanted it back and you messed up (or ignored them). The fact remains as mentioned in the video anyone from a rival company could have bought it, and even if it isn't something like that it is still a douche move.

Then the "review" itself, while he sort of admits that he read the room wrong, he still thinks what they did was somehow ok. To build on the supercar analogy from his response, it is more than someone reviewing a Lambo, knowing the vast majority will never get it due to cost. What he did was basically like taking that Lambo off of the track and putting it on a dirt rally stage and wondering why is the ride rough and why is stuff breaking and then saying "see nobody should buy this cause it sucks and is expensive." Like damn Linus, you have to have serious issues if you think testing a cooler on a product it was never designed for is somehow good enough to draw a conclusion for how it works.

TL;DR I have also lost more respect for Linus with that response. I hope they do improve, but since they think quantity is better than quality, I'm not holding out much hope.

Watching LMG for anything but entertainment, well I think that's just silly IMHO.

the damage he has done to billet blocks is severe and chalking it up to a mistake is downright disrespectful to their company, it really comes off as "I am Linus, I know what's best, just sell the piece of junk", he really needs to stop and take a look in the mirror cause I do think he is the problem and I think his staff can't or won't stand up to him about the quality of everything they're doing, to be honest when you are the sole image of a company with this many people your responsible for and behaving like the all-out dictator child he is( it saddens him to see how fast the pitch forks came out) it's the community that is the problem, not me. when it's clear your staff or at least one of them gets it, just watch Luke in the WAN show a lot of the time he understands what people are saying and Linus won't listen or Luke won't speak up out of fear of hearing "shut up Luke I got this" you can see it all over Luke's face. I think its time for Linus to step down/ back away or just grow up and stop thinking he is the tech god of youtube
 
I think they hit the nail on the head. The only thing I think Steve should have left out of his video was the Terren/gary accusations/implications as shills, I think their history speaks for itself.

well, we will see if Linus or the team at LMG learn from this or if they just keep plowing forward with their reckless abandonment.

Wow I didn't think Linus was this stupid and or out of touch, he made this so much worse with his response with the timeline, his pitty "me" party is just a joke if they were a publicly traded company he would be outed as CEO/CVO maybe his wife should tell him he needs to step away and just stop talking before he kills LMG, no reason people with more common sense can't take the reigns IE Luke, not one chance that happens under KING Linus rule, well at least he doesn't have to worry about us tech peasants taking his head lol


On another note.

Anyone else catch the AMD leak, this kinda looks like what Wendell was talking about, if AMD were to go the route of P&E cores they could produce an Amazingly powerful and power-efficient CPU/APU with the tech they already have on hand, which is very cool to see if true, SMT on E cores could help.

I like the videos where he has $100000 plus server hardware and installs games on them. But he never says thats an egregious waste of money. No body should buy this stuff. Why? Because it's just a fantasy, like the car videos, and a block like this. This guy is so dumb.
