My question is, is the cooler that comes with the package sufficient or should I purchase another one myself? If so, which would you recommend? No water cooling.

Also as a side note, how do I see the heat of my CPU ? Once again I'm pretty bad at this :D. I'd like to see how much heat it produces at high output and at idle, with the standard cooler.

There are numerous options, but Realtemp is a popular freeware program, and covers most of the bases where CPU temperature monitoring is concerned.

If you're on a budget and not overclocking, the stock cooler will get you by. But otherwise, just about any aftermarket heatsink with a 120mm fan will be both better and quieter in operation.
 
If you are looking for a cheap but good quality (and heat dissipation) heat sink, i would recommend the Cooler Master Hyper 212 as it gives relative good cooling results while coming in at the cheapest.

I'm not on a budget and I don't have any plans of ever overclocking. I just want to make sure it doesn't overheat and die with high end gaming.

As I said, I am only looking for a fan IF the one that comes with the cpu is terrible and can't handle gaming the newest games without causing trouble.

Okay so the rig finally arrived today, I assembled all of it and it runs like a charm.
Just a small question, I can't seem to find Windows 7 drivers for my motherboard, and the cd that comes along just says it wont run cause it doesn't support this OS.

Will it have any impacts on gaming or such if the motherboard drivers ain't installed?

I'm almost positive Asus has Win 7 drivers for your board, I searched quickly and assuming I'm looking at the right model they are listed. Just go to their site and choose your board, and select Win 7, and bam! everything you need. :biggrin:

Hm, I tried that before I posted, just tried again and I just can't find P6T deluxe V2 version anywhere. Did you find it?

Oh never mind! I found it. The site just didn't load the last two times. Thanks! Another question now :D. It found 49 different files, which drivers does one usually download when downloading drivers for your motherboard?
I'm guessing the newest version from all the categories?

You'll want the latest from the following catagories:

Chipset
AUDIO
LAN
SATA

You might want some others. That would be out of preference though.
