Gallery Multi GPU Retro Fun!

I remember I had the following multi-gpu builds;

- Quad CrossFire (2x 4870x2)
- Dual CrossFire (2x 4890)
- Dual CrossFire (2x 6970)

I'll have to see if I can dig up some photos

If you find them I would love to see them!

For me it was SLI:
8800GT SLI
9800GT SLI
GTX 260 core 216 SLI
GTX 465 Golden Edition SLI
GTX 470 SLI
GTX 780 SLI
GTX 780Ti SLI

I really had to rack my brain, seems I am forgetting what I all had... and that is sad

I had the GTX 295 that was dual GPUs on a single card, and then I ran dual GTX 670s for while.

It was fun, but honestly, I wasn't sorry to move away from SLI-type configurations. When you weren't getting expected performance in games it was always yet another thing you had to investigate, tweak and twiddle. A fast single card is way less guess work.

This one is still in use. i5 4690K, 16GB Patriot Viper 1866, GTX 660ti SLI. Anyone recognize anything on the intake fan at the bottom of the case?

Does this count?? hehe. 9800GX2 (2 x 9800GT essentially with a cooler sandwiched between them. Very cool old card!). If I remember correctly, the rest of the PC was a Xeon X3210 overclocked to around 3.2ghz or so, DFI X38 Ultra motherboard, and 2 independent cooling loops (Black UV in one, clear in the other). Case was that wonky but cool Silverstone TJ09. Looking back now, that case was certainly Unique!

HD4850's for me back in the day... heatsink swap on the bottom card since it was the single slot reference blower. Still got this Silverstone FT01 in storage, since it's mostly aluminum I could never part with it.
