right... but that video card is still in the gen2 computer... and i promised to give this computer to my brother next week... >_>;


maybe i should research on dtek gpu watercool again... (thats a long time ago and i remember that it did a well job... ) if it didn't good as i thought then i will get better video card...
 
If you can get a couple of 280 or 285's they'll certainly outperform a single 470 and about par with a single 480...no DX 11, but all in all that shouldn't be a big deal...hell Mafia II is still DX9......

I agree with Zero...280's are an older Card.....but they still kick some shader ass in a big way...when in Sli.....
 
hmn, GTX 280 is overkill now, GTX 280 sli is surly better than or equal to GTX 480, but overall single GTX 280 is just slightly better than GTX 460 1GB which is selling 170 pre tax.

Second hand GTX 260 are down to 110 per card which I think that is much more cost efficiently........

ah i really like to see more opinions... maybe they can change zero's mind...

anyway... i research a lot... but not whole story about gpu waterblock...

as far as i know that dtek gfx v2 is great for mid to high performance... but there is some new waterblock that is much better if its not gtx 2xxx

yes gtx 260 is cheap... but i should enjoy from gtx 280
 
it looks to me like no matter how much we blabber you still go with your choices lol, so not diddly sure theres room for more opinions :p

yeah... make many decisions do really suck...


my thought about directx 11 video card is too early to tell... or maybe not fully complete... there is just less than 8 games but i really want to wait for amd 6 series... i can live with directx 9 or 10...

Let's get some facts straight. GTX280 is not overkill now. GTX280 sli is not "surly better than or equal to GTX480" and I would like a link to where I can find a 1GB GTX460 for $170 US or CDN. Any GTX below the 285 will probably not sell for more than $140 US or CDN. These cards should be kept for physx, traded or "in case of emergency, break glass". Just my $0.02.

So....these are "real world" Benches done by real world people....the SLi 260 obviously does somewhat better than a single 480 Fermi Card....I can guarantee that SLi 280's will be around P28K...now this just maybe a few folks "flexing" thier Vantage scores, but its still real world comparison...
I used to get P29K with Sli 280's and P35K with Tri Sli 280's....fvck man...the things are still beasts...and they Scaled excellent!!

btw...I sold one for $160 and 2 for $145 ;)
