Does anyone have an idea or some concrete information on when the new batch of graphic cards is supposed to hit the market? I took peoples advice here and purchased a XFX GeForce GTX 275 instead of a 295, since people said it won't be worth the money with the new one coming up and something with DirectX11.

So does anyone have an idea when the new Nvidia card is supposed to hit the market? The price is irrelevant for me at least, I am just curious about the release date or any general information about the card.

The people that know won't really be saying anything.

However, considering the upcoming games you are more than set until any rumored release with a GTX 275.

Sorry, my bad. I meant a 285. But yeah I'm guessing that's even better considering. I'm not asking for the exact date, just something approximate. November or december I'm guessing from what I've read so far.

The dates out there are what they are: rumors. Whether they are correct or not has yet to be seen.

As Sky stated...its all rumours....Q4 '09 - Q1 '10.....
Bear in mind, as in all new release Cards these will likely come at a premium $$$.....

Your 285 is a beast....if you really want to knock some socks off get a 2nd one and go SLI....wouldn't be at all surprised if SLI 285's provides for greater performance then a new release GTX3xxx Card ......history has somewhat dictated this...

2 x 285's or 2 x280's still provides better performance than a single 295.

$$$ is not a problem for me, at all. I'd even buy the new card for over 1000$ if it proves to be by far better then the performance of 285. The idea of doing 285 SLI business did strike me a few times, but I'm more of a 1 card kinda guy. The reason for this is that I simply lack brains when it comes to computer parts and hardware management. I wouldn't know how to setup the SLI let alone know what preferences to set for the highest amount of quality and so on, really. But if two 285 cards prove to be better then the new release, then of course I'll find a way to do that.

1. Take side panel off of Rig
2. Plug new GPU into available PCI-E Slot
3. Plug in PCI-E power connectors from PSU to Card
4. Attach SLI bridge

Re-install GPU Drivers (the last few times I'v either added a GPU or taked one out I have been lazy and not bothered uninstalling Graphics Drivers).....
It is that simple!
As for nVidia Control Panel...ensure SLI is selected...thats it ;)

september 10th is the official release tade for ATI's new cards,
and first quarter of 2010 is nvdia's (rumors).
