NVIDIA Announces GTX 780 Ti!

It supposed to be faster than titan BUT with the double precision processing crippled too.. As said by Nvidia they expect Titan to be more dev focused and the 780 ti to be gamer focused with the 780ti being their fastest single chip card to date.

I would expect that this would be fhe full hog GK110 with some amazing performance. If priced around the 290x, AMD are in trouble again.
Really feels like nvidia are holding back and reacting to AMD these days (since the 4xx vs 5xxx series)

For $700, it's worth looking into. How much in CAD? Probably $750, then taxes, so ~$800-$850?

Of course, this assumes all the rumors are right, which often they're not. Still, at 4K resolution, it's reported that the 290X wins. Also, keep in mind that the 290X is a new card, so drivers might be able to squeeze more performance (like they did eventually on the 7970 GHz). The GK110 by contrast is likely to be more mature and we'll see only limited gains. Also worth looking into is how they custom PCB cards are going to end up.

And who has a 4k monitor /tv here (or basically anywhere).. 4k is not worth it yet apart from maybe designers etc.

On drivers maturing, Nvidia drivers get released regularly with performance gains in multiple titles.. My biggest criticism of AMD is their slow and frankly crappy software. This is my biggest fear for Mantle.
On Mantle, If I was looking at a new card I'd wait and see what Mantle could bring to the table before committing to red or green.

his point is most likely that outside of high resolutions these cards are almost a waste of money.

Wonder how long it will take the likes of Asus to do their DCII to the same level as the 780... That will be an awesome card.

Still waiting on a reliable (and safe) way to unlock the voltage from nvidia's grip...

If you want voltage you need to stick w/ reference or use a Classified. I don't think other manufacturers will release a bios capable of more.
