Oblivion Remaster

Outdoors?

No, just the initial run through the tunnels.

On another note.... it appears that the game settings are localized so there's no issues playing on different PCs, but unless there's a cloud save I didn't notice the game saves are also local. I played a bit on my main PC yesterday but didn't see the option to load that game on my laptop this morning.

Interesting how outdated the UI looks/feels, but I put enough time into the game that I'm sure my memory muscles will kick in fairly quickly.

Besides hitching occasionally, the initial dungeon ran great. But the 2nd I reached outdoors it dropped to unplayable. Indoors was playing on high, DLSS balanced and getting 70-90FPS.

Ooofff, played about 30-40 minutes today and I'm remembering why I like Skyrim so much more than Oblivion. Oblivion is clunky as hell. Skyrim's clunky too, but they definitely took some lessons from Oblivion.

Menus are unintuitive, spells linked to a power button isn't great, though swapping with the hotkey wheel gives a little more flexibility. Combat is very 'swish-y' with little impact and your melee range is a little off.

Visually it's definitely impressive, and not seeing the potato faces of the original release is nice. I do notice that Unreal games seem to have an odd 'uncanny valley' to the faces and skin textures though. I noticed it with Avowed as well.

Honestly, it's probably got me more excited for Skyblivion now. I want to explore the world and quests of Oblivion again, but I'd like to steer clear of the systems in ESIV.

Would really like to see FNV get a remaster (or better yet a remake) from this team with the power armor system of F4.

Still getting CTD after lengthy (1hr+) sessions. Not sure if it's VRAM or not, but it looks like the cache isn't clearing and/or there's a memory leak. HWInfo reports 150,000+ MB after a certain period of time.

On another note.... the bridges between Oblivion Towers is one of the few game instances that really triggers my fear of heights.

And if anybody held off but is planning on jumping in to a new game, best advice I've come across is to do the Kvatch quest fairly early in the game before the baddies get leveled up.
